Rehearsal Attendance
Salem Philharmonia Orchestra musicians are expected to make all rehearsals for a concert set. We do understand that occasionally an illness or family emergency arises. In such cases, please notify your section leader (or another person in your section, if you are the section leader), the Executive Director, and the Artistic Director as soon as possible. In all other cases, your commitment to attending all rehearsals is required as a member of the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra. Unexcused absences, without a valid reason such as an accident, illness or family emergency, are not acceptable.
If a player is going to miss 2 or more rehearsals in a concert set, the conductor Artistic Director and Executive Director, in consultation with the section leader, reserve the right to ask the musician not to play that particular concert set.
